Utility Maintenance Worker I
Utility Maintenance Worker I Position available in the Traffic division of the Department of Public Works. Duties: Responsible for various tasks including pavement markings, sign maintenance, signal maintenance, repainting of existing roadway markings, traffic control for work areas, installing or replacing roadway signs, and assisting in maintenance of traffic signals. Must be available to participate in snow removal operations, various special events and after hour's emergencies. Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. Must have valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Commercial Driver's License desired. Must have good communication skills. Must be in good physical condition and capable of lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work with or without direct supervision. Must be able to work overtime as required. May be required to participate in rotation on call duties. Special Requirements: Must report to work in, and wear at all times on the job, steel-toed safety shoes of an acceptable standard, effective first scheduled work day. May not work without safety shoes. Pre-Employment Testing: This position may be required to submit to initial and random controlled substance testing. Hours: 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, overtime as required. Salary: $28,850+ Depending on qualifications, Grade 4 Closing Date: Open until filled
