Curious about pottery and turning a mound of clay into a beautiful bowl, then sign up and try our Beginning-Intermediate Wheel Throwing class. For those of you with some previous pottery skills there is an Intermediate Wheel class to help you develop more advanced techniques in throwing, glazing, and repeating forms. Our pottery lab has an onsite firing kiln, glazing station, and electric wheels.
Beginning Wheel Ages 16 & up Beginners will learn the basic techniques of throwing on the wheel to include wedging, centering, pulling, trimming, use of tools and glazing techniques. Begin this wonderful craft with good habits & positive feedback in every class. Although designed for the beginner, all skill levels are welcome. Students should bring a towel to class. Use of tools and 25 lbs clay included; additional clay may be purchased. 8, 2.5 hour sessions TOH $150/NR $188 September 21-November 9 2141.001 M 6:30-9pm
Beginning Wheel IIAges 16 & up For students with some previous wheel experience. This class will focus on perfecting throwing skills using larger amounts of clay to create both decorative and composition forms, such as vases, bottles, teapots, casseroles and covered jars. Students should bring a towel to class. Use of tools and 25 lbs of clay included; additional clay may be purchased. 8, 2.5 hour sessions TOH $150/NR $188 September 23-November 11 2141.200 W 6:30-9pm
Pottery Lab Pottery Lab is available to students enrolled in our pottery classes. Learning to use the potter's wheel takes patience, focus and practice - this is a great opportunity to work on your own. Purchase clay for an additional fee. Pay weekly or purchase a pass for the semester. Beginning September 18 $8 each night or $45 for pass 2141.003 F 6-9pm
