Preschool
The Herndon Community Center Preschool provides a safe and caring learning environment for your child in the unique, relaxed setting of the Herndon Community Center, operated by the Town of Herndon Parks and Recreation Department. Our program's primary goal is to provide developmentally appropriate curriculum that nurtures the whole child. The program is designed and the staff is selected to accomplish the following goals:
Build a positive self image for each child
Increase each child's degree of independence
Develop a sense of responsibility for self and others
Learn to share and respect the rights and privileges of others
Learn basic readiness skills and improve physical skills

Activities and projects are time-tested and proven to be fun learning experiences and exciting new activities are constantly added after careful planning by the staff.

Our location at the Herndon Community Center provides many unique opportunities for great indoor and outdoor play no matter what the weather. A full service gymnasium and indoor pool are steps away from our classroom.

Paperwork Required
Preschool Play Camp is licensed through the State of Virginia Social Services Department. The State requires that we see your child's original or a certified copy of the birth certificate or passport. We must have the following forms on file for your child prior to the start of preschool: Registration Form, Physical & Immunization Records, Authorization for Pick-up, and Participant Information. Parents/guardians are encouraged to pick up the forms at the HCC, or they will be mailed to you after your registration is processed.
Tuition
A $75.00 non-refundable deposit is required at registration. The first payment of Preschool is due July 15. The schedule for the remaining payments is:

November 15
January 15
March 15
All payments not received by the due date will be assessed a 10% service fee.
NOTE: Payments are considered late when received five (5) days after the official due date. Days are defined as total days, not just working days. As a courtesy, the Parks & Recreation Department mails reminders approximately two (2) weeks before the due dates. However, the payments are still due on the stated dates, and a late charge is applied regardless of when or whether the reminder notice is received or not.
Payment Methods
Personal checks, money orders, cash, AMEX, VISA, and MasterCard are accepted. Credit card payments may be automatically credited if desired. Please contact the department for details. All payments must be made to Administrative Staff. Please be sure to obtain a receipt.

Non Resident rate: $1446- 5 payments of $289.20 each
TOH Resident rate: $1205 - 5 payments of $241 each

Tuesday/Thursday
Non Resident rate: $1140- 5 payments of $228 each
TOH Resident rate: $950 - 5 payments of $190 each
2010-2011 Fees: TOH $1098/NR $1465
