Long-sleeve T-shirts guaranteed to the first 500 pre-registered runners. Must pick up packet and t-shirt the day of the race. No packets or t-shirts will be available after race day. Prizes to 1st and 2nd place winners in the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & over.
A turkey and all the trimmings will be given to the overall male and female winners. Registration forms will be available at the Herndon Community Center late September. On-line registration available at www.active.com.
Pre-registration - $15 and a can of food for donation
Race Day Registration - Adults $20 and a can of food for donation
Youth ages 18 & under - $15 and a can of food for donation

As part of the Herndon Turkey Trot 5k race this year we are joining with Nike and their Reuse-A-Shoe recycling program. We are collecting used running shoes which will later be ground up into small pieces and used to make basketball courts, track fields, playgrounds, floor tiles, new shoes and apparel. This is a great way to get rid of all those old sneakers you have laying around and to "go green" by recycling. Bring one pair or bring ten! We will be collecting shoes at the Herndon Community Center from mid September to November 21st (race day/packet pick-up). When recycling your shoes, please remember:
• We can only recycle athletic shoes (running shoes, sneakers, etc.)
• We accept all brands of shoes
• No shoes containing metal
• No cleats or dress shoes
• No wet or damp shoes
• No sandals or flip-flops
