Rental Inspection Program
The Town of Herndon's Rental Inspection Program ensures that rental properties are maintained in a safe and sanitary manner. The neighborhoods of Waterford Park, Branch Avenue, Park Avenue Square, Tralee, Courts of Chandon, and Dulles Park have been designated rental districts. All rental properties within these neighborhoods are required to be inspected by Town of Herndon Staff. Properties are checked for violations of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code as well as adherence to town codes, including occupancy requirements. If you reside in one of the rental districts and would like to inform us of a rental property please call 703-435-6850 or email buildinginspections@herndon-va.gov
If you own a rental property in one of these districts and have not yet done so, please fill out a rental inspection information form and return to our office with the $70 inspection fee. You will find the specific items our inspector is looking for on our checklist. Once your information form and fee is received you will get a call from a staff member to schedule an inspection.
