Public Works provides maintenance to grounds surrounding all town owned facilities, town parks, Fairfax County owned school athletic fields and right-of-way within the corporate limits of the town. Approximately 190 acres are maintained on a regular basis by town staff and service contractors. Public Works help provide a safe, pleasing, and helpful environment.
Preparing the town green for the growing season
The town green, located behind the Municipal Center, is seeded and fertilized each spring beginning in March. The green is typically closed to the public from approximately mid March to early April each spring while the grounds crew prepares the lawn for the growing season and the many events it will host during the spring and summer months.
