About Public Works
The Department of Public Works provides a wide range of services that are vital to enhancing everyday life for our residents and visitors, including: maintenance of streets; traffic control; water and sewer facilities; municipal building, and parks and grounds.
Public Works also coordinates refuse and recycling collection; fall leaf collection; snow removal; Town-wide spring and fall cleanups, as well as manages capital improvement projects, and reviews and inspects building and site improvement projects.
The Public Works Operations and Emergency Response Center receives and executes Town-wide work requests, giving priority effort to safety issues.
The Operations Center is the DPW command center for all emergency operations such as snow removal, flooding/high water dissipation, response to severe or life-threatening storms and other natural or man-made disasters.
