Gas line replacement project 


Columbia Gas will replace the main natural gas line located in the 800 and 900 block of Grant Street and the 600 block of Fillmore Street.  The project is scheduled to begin on May 7th and advance notices will be given to the affected residents.  The majority of the work will be in the street, but some services will be impacted.  Work hours will be from 7am-4pm.  Please click here to view a copy of the citizen notice which will be provided to all affected residents by Columbia Gas.  You may contact Jennifer DuBois at Columbia Gas for further information 1-804-768-6463.  You may also contact the town's operations center at 703-435-6860 or email publicworks@herndon-va.gov.

All work performed in the Town of Herndon's Right-Of-Way requires a permit. A permit must be issued prior to commencement of any work. This assures all work is completed in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines. Also, the permitting process allows Public Works to ensure restoration is completed in a timely manner. All utility companies and their subcontractors who work within the Town's Right-Of-Way are monitored for compliance of installation standards.
