Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is composed of seven citizens of the Town appointed by the Town Council.  Current members include:

      Chairman Kevin East
      Bernadette Bettard
      Robert Burk
      George Burke
      Melissa Jonas
      Paul LeReche, Vice Chairman and
      Kevin Moses

Commission members are are appointed to serve a four-year term, unless appointed to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term.

The Commission's responsibilities include making critical zoning and planning recommendations to the Town Council on site plans, subdivision plans, special exceptions, zoning map amendments (more commonly known as rezonings), comprehensive plan amendments and amendments to the Town's Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance.

Public hearings are conducted on the first Monday of each month and work sessions on the third Monday, unless altered by a holiday schedule. To confirm work session and public hearing dates, please view the 2012 Information Sheet.

Interested in serving?

If you would like an opportunity to express your views on a particular application scheduled for a Planning Commission Public Hearing, please provide the following information, no later than 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the public hearing:

(a)   Full name of Speaker
(b)   Complete address of Speaker
(c)    Daytime phone number or an e-mail address of Speaker
(d)   Indicate the item that you want to discuss.
(e)   If you have been designated to speak for an organized group, please specify the name of the organization. If you are speaking for a group of neighbors or property owners that share your views, please attach a listing of their names and addresses along with their signatures giving you permission to speak on their behalf.


If you are unable to attend a public hearing and would like to provide written comments to be reviewed by the Planning Commission, submit the comments by 4:00 p.m. at least one week prior to the public hearing.   All comments will be transmitted to the Planning Commission for their review. Written comments can be submitted using one of the following methods:
