Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is composed of seven citizens of the Town appointed by the Town Council whose responsibilities include making critical zoning and planning recommendations to the Town Council on site plans, subdivision plans, special exceptions, zoning map amendments (more commonly known as rezonings), comprehensive plan amendments and amendments to the Town's Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance.

All Commission members are Town residents and are appointed to serve a four-year term, unless appointed to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term.

Public hearings are conducted on the first Monday of each month and work sessions on the third Monday, unless altered by a holiday schedule. To confirm work session dates, and public hearing dates, please view the 2009 schedule.

Interested in serving?

If you would like an opportunity to express your views on a particular application scheduled for a Planning Commission Public Hearing, please provide the following information, no later than 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the public hearing:

(a)   Full name of Speaker
(b)   Complete address of Speaker
(c)   Indicate if your comments represent your opinion or the
       the the opinion of an organized group.
(d)   Daytime phone number of Speaker.
(e)   Indicate the item that you want to discuss.


If you are unable to attend a public hearing and would like to provide written comments to be reviewed by the Planning Commission, submit the comments by 4:00 p.m. at least one week prior to the public hearing.   All comments will be transmitted to the Planning Commission for their review. Written comments can be submitted using one of the following methods:
