Chestnut Grove Cemetery
The Chestnut Grove Cemetery, located at 831 Dranesville Road in Herndon, is a community heritage resource, providing twenty-five acres as an active historic cemetery. Earliest burials in the cemetery date to the 1830s, and the site was formally organized as a cemetery in 1874. The cemetery was deeded to the Town in 1997 from the Chestnut Grove Cemetery Association, which had operated the cemetery from the early 1950s. Chestnut Grove has recently completed the first phase of the master plan with the completion of an office and maintenance facility.
