Community Policing
Community policing is an important part of law enforcement services which promotes police/citizen partnerships and supports interactive problem-solving strategies to address the cause and effect of crime. Although the department fulfills its traditional role of a full-service agency by responding to all calls for service; community policing enhances law enforcement services by building effective partnerships with citizens to work together towards the common goal of making Herndon a safe place to live and work.
The department has established five community policing districts within the Town, they are: Center, Runnymede, Haley Smith, Bruin, and Golf Course.
