Records
The Records Section is located at 397 Herndon Parkway, Herndon, Virginia 20170. Hours of operation are from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Criminal Record Checks:
Individuals requesting their own records must provide two forms of identification. One must contain a photograph and date of birth. Both must be current. Valid forms of identification include, but are not limited to a driver's license, Social Security card, birth certificate, passport, military identification, Medicare card, state-issued ID card and green card. Record Checks only include class three and four misdemeanors. For complete and current checks, written inquiry should be made through the Virginia State Police Central Criminal Records Exchange. Incident Synopsis:
A synopsis of an incident can be obtained from the Records Section by the complainant, victim or property owner. Actual copies of case records are released only to law enforcement officers or pursuant to a subpoena. Incident synopsis will generally not be available until at least 24 hours after the report was taken. The request will be met within three to five business days. The request may be made in person, telephone, email or US mail. Parking Tickets:
If you have received a parking ticket (non-moving violation), you may pay the fine at the Herndon Finance Department in the Herndon Municipal Center at 777 Lynn Street, Herndon, Virginia (703-435-6813).

The summons document will indicate in which court you are to appear. Hours of operation and additional information are located on the rear of the defendant's copy.
The General District Court (Herndon) is a division of the Fairfax County General District Court and is held at 765 Lynn Street, Herndon, Virginia every Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. on the lower level. It is located next to the Herndon Municipal Center in the building with a green glass roof. If you need to speak with a court clerk at any time other than your Herndon court date, you may reach the clerks in Fairfax at 703-246-3764.
General District Court (Fairfax) is held at 4110 Chainbridge Road, Fairfax, Virginia. Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court is held at 4000 Chainbridge Road, Fairfax, Virginia
If you received a ticket while driving (moving violation) that is marked as prepayable, you must pay this fine to the Fairfax County General District Court, Traffic Division, 4110 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, Virginia 22030 (703-246-3764). Traffic Accident Reports:
The Records Section maintains copies of all accident reports. These copies are released to the drivers and owners of the vehicles involved, as well as to their attorneys and/or insurance representatives. Reports are also released to persons injured and owners of property damaged as a result of the accident. A request for a copy of an accident report may be made in person, telephone, email or US mail.
Attorneys and Insurance Company representatives must make their request on official letterhead.
All other requesters will receive a redacted copy.
