The Herndon Police Department is dedicated to providing professional law enforcement services through effective police response and intentional community involvement. Our goal is to promptly respond to calls, investigate all incidents and enforce the law. However, public safety is a shared responsibility and through active police/community partnerships, together we can initiate problem solving strategies to address crime and other neighborhood issues that affect everyday life.
The Herndon Police Department is staffed by highly trained officers and civilians who are committed to integrity and professionalism, meeting stringent training requirements and accreditation standards. Colonel Maggie DeBoard, Chief of Police, leads the department, assisted by two Division Commanders, Captain Brad Anzengruber, Field Operations Division and Captain Larry Presgrave, Support Services Division. The department consists of 55 sworn officers and 16 civilians.
