The Architectural Review Board (ARB) consists of five local citizens appointed by the Town Council. Board membership must include at least one architect and one attorney.
ARB Meeting Schedule
The ARB holds its public hearings on the third Monday or each month and work sessions are held the prior Wednesday, unless altered by a holiday schedule. Application deadlines are generally 30 days before the public hearing.
Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and are held in the Herndon Council Chambers Building located at 765 Lynn Street, Herndon, Virginia.
Reviewing and approving the design and architecture of exterior alterations, additions, new construction, and some signage for all properties outside the Heritage Preservation Districts excluding single family attached and detached homes.
Advising the Planning Commission on the appropriateness of any proferred elevations proposed as part of a Zoning Map Amendment outside the Heritage Preservation Districts.
