The Planning Commission consists of seven citizens of the Town appointed by the Town Council. Commission members are appointed to serve a four-year term, unless appointed to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term.

Commenting on Public Hearing Items
Public hearings are an opportunity to express your views on various issues listed on the Planning Commission Public Hearing agenda.
If you are unable to attend a public hearing and would like to provide written comments to be reviewed by the Planning Commission, submit the comments by 9am the Friday before the public hearing. All comments will be transmitted to the Planning Commission for their review and will need to include the following information:
Full name of Speaker
Complete address of Speaker
Daytime phone number or an e-mail address of Speaker
Indicate the item that you want to comment on
If you have been designated to speak for an organized group, please specify the name of the organization. If you are speaking for a group of neighbors or property owners that share your views, please provide a listing of their names and addresses along with their signatures giving you permission to speak on their behalf.
Written comments can be submitted using one of the following methods:
Public hearings are conducted on the first Monday of each month and work sessions on the third Monday, unless altered by a holiday schedule. Meetings begin at 7pm and are held in the Herndon Council Chambers Building located at 765 Lynn Street, Herndon, Virginia. Planning Commission 2018 Information Sheet
