On February 28, 2017, The Town Council adopted Resolution # 17-G-30, the proposed concept plan introduced at the public information meeting of December 8, 2016.
A public information meeting was held on December 8, 2016 in the Herndon Council Chambers Building. The Department of Public Works staff along with the town's consultant RK&K presented concept plans regarding the design of improvements planned along Van Buren Street between Spring Street and Herndon Parkway. Improvements include bike lanes, curb, gutter and sidewalk improvements. A copy of the PowerPoint is available for viewing.
Following the public information meeting, the town accepted comments on the concept plans through January 7, 2016 and at the Public Hearing held on February 28, 2017.
Design - Herndon Parkway/Van Buren Intersection

A Public Hearing was held in October 2015 to discuss the concept options to improve the intersection at Herndon Parkway and Van Buren Street. Option 2C was adopted by the Town Council as the concept plan to carry forward into final design. View Project Details

Design - Center Street and Elden Street Improvements

The Department of Public Works held a public information meeting to discuss conceptual improvement plans for the Center Street and Elden Street in July 2015. Presentation materials including conceptual project plans were made available prior to the meeting for review. Three concepts have been developed for the intersection. View Project Details
Surveying has taken place along Park Avenue, between Van Buren St and Dranesville Road, for a proposed design to improve pedestrian safety as part of the Safe Routes to School Program grant. The proposed design will include sidewalk improvements and curb and gutter.
