Herndon Festival is looking for a few good stage managers! 

The 39th Festival features two stages of professional entertainment outdoors over four days. The most qualified candidates will have a through understanding of both the technical and artistic elements of a performance to ensure it is delivered to the festival's requirements.


  • Oversees all talent movements, from entertainer check- in to departure from the event. Successful applicants will be organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to maintain the professional image and integrity of the Herndon Festival by presenting yourself professionally to the public and performers
  • Responsible for working with the sound company, artist, emcee, other staff and volunteers, backline and equipment companies
  • Ensure that the entertainment runs smoothly, on time, with proper equipment, direction and coordination
  • Appropriate problem solving as needed
  • Responsible for communicating the details of the festival to the stage crew
  • Ensuring all festival policies are enforced regarding staging, safety and show protocol 


  • Knows about instruments and how to handle backline
  • Monitor day off requests from performers as approved by Event Coordinator
  • Appropriate problem solving as needed
