Herndon Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting
Post Date:05/04/2026 4:09 PMHerndon, VA (May 4, 2026) – The Town of Herndon has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement of Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
“We are honored that the Town of Herndon has been recognized by the GFOA for excellence in financial reporting,” said Town Manager Dan Hoffman. “This distinction speaks to our staff’s strong commitment to fiscal responsibility, integrity, and transparency. Their hard work and attention to detail make a real difference, and it’s wonderful to see their efforts acknowledged.”
The Certificate of Achievement, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, was awarded by a panel of finance professionals based on the Town’s commitment to transparency, clarity, and adherence to accounting best practices in public financial reporting. This marks the 51st consecutive year the Town has been recognized by GFOA.
