The Herndon Community Center has swimming programs to suit you and your child's age and abilities. If you are looking to acclimate your 6-month-old to the water or have your child benefit from being involved in a swim team, or maybe you know an adult who wants to learn or improve their swim strokes, we offer a dynamic aquatics program.
Please review the VSAG class prerequisites before registering for classes to ensure your child is signed up for the correct class. Please contact the Aquatics Program Specialist at (703) 435-6800 x2134 if you need any assistance or would like to schedule a free swim evaluation to help you determine which class will fit your needs best.
*Please Note: Swim evaluations are not being scheduled while the pool is closed. We will resume the evaluations once the pool has reopened.*
Looking to get certificated to be more involved in the aquatics field? We offer Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Water Safety Instructor courses.
The pool lane usage schedule can be found here.
Revised versions of the lane chart will be published as changes in the pool schedule occur. Please remember that scheduled activities have priority for usage of pool space.
Annually an Aqua Egg Hunt is held in the pool. Children will collect as many floating and sinking eggs as possible in the time allowed. Everyone will receive a prize!
