Overview

The town is currently developing its first Urban Forestry Management Plan.  This plan will provide the short to long term guidance on preserving and expanding healthy tree canopy within the town and establish the standards and policies to achieve plan objectives.  In support of the this plan, a public street tree inventory was recently completed and a canopy analysis is on-going.  The canopy analysis, a pending landscape ordinance audit, and a review of the Urban Forestry Management Plan are being conducted with technical assistance funded by the Virginia Department of Forestry's Community Forestry Revitalization Program.
