Sustainable Retrofits for Existing Buildings - Building sustainability expert, Serena Bolliger, presented a program entitled Sustainable Retrofits for Existing Buildings for interested property owners. Attendees learned tips for improving the comfort, efficiency, and performance of existing buildings. In her talk, Serena explored how building systems work, identified the most common sources of energy loss, and discussed the upgrades that deliver the greatest energy savings.

Historic Preservation Tax Credits - Staff from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources joined property owners, business owners, and community members to discuss how state and federal historic rehabilitation tax credits can support improvements to historic buildings. Attendees learned about program basics, the application process, and how projects can successfully meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
