Herndon offers a variety of transportation options.  The town continues to increase and improve facilities for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and those using public transit. 



The Fairfax Connector has released their draft Preferred Plan for bus route changes around Reston and Herndon.  They are currently taking public comments through an online survey for each proposed bus route. Walking & Biking in Town - Herndon's density and mix of uses lends itself to non-motorized trips, planning efforts are underway to bolster the existing facilities into an integrated bicycle and pedestrian network.
The Washington & Old Dominion Regional Trail - The W&OD Regional Trail is a wonderful resource that extends through the town and can serve commuters, shoppers and others wanting to cycle or walk.
