It is through our commitment to Community Policing that we enhance the law enforcement services we provide to residents, and to those who visit the Town of Herndon for work or pleasure. We seek to go beyond fulfilling just our traditional role as a full-service agency responding to all calls for service, and work with our community partners to create interactive problem-solving strategies which address the cause and effect of crime. By engaging with all stakeholders, we believe we can build effective partnerships which will allow us to forge our common goal of making Herndon a safe place to live, work, and play. We actively encourage community involvement through our citizen and youth police academies, the Chief’s Advisory Committee, and outreach through programs such as National Night Out.
The department has established four community policing districts within the town, they are Dranesville, Dulles, Metro, and Worldgate.
