Park Avenue, located just outside the Downtown area, extends from Ferndale Avenue to Monroe Street. The corridor is defined by a high density of residential housing and pedestrian activity characteristic of a multimodal neighborhood street. A study was completed in Fall 2024 to assess the corridor using the Town’s 2024 Standards for Traffic Calming and Crosswalks. Preliminary results from this study indicated the following needs:

• Improvement of pedestrian accommodations such as crosswalks, clear sidewalks, and visibility.
• Introduction of traffic calming elements.
• Improved roadway striping to aid in establishing parking areas, sight distance, and pedestrian areas.

A community meeting was held on April 21, 2025. Staff met with local residents to gather community feedback on the study results and concept alternatives under consideration.
