• Commenting on HPRB Public Hearing Items

  Public hearings are an opportunity to express your views on the items listed on the HPRB Public Hearing agenda. 
  
  If you are unable to attend a public hearing and would like to provide written comments to the HPRB, submit the comments by 9:00 a.m. the Friday before the public hearing. 

  Written comments can be submitted using one of the following methods:

  • E-mail: Community.development@herndon-va.gov (reference HPRB item)
  • Mail: Town of Herndon, Community Development, PO BOX 427, Herndon, VA 20172

• HPRB Meeting Schedule

  The HPRB holds its public hearings on the third  Wednesday of each month and work sessions are held on the first Wednesday, unless altered by a holiday schedule. Application deadlines are generally 30 days before the public hearing.

  Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and are held in the Herndon Council Chambers Building located at 765 Lynn Street, Herndon, Virginia.

• HPRB Responsibilities

  The HPRB is responsible for:

  • reviewing applications for and issuing Certificates of Appropriateness for exterior alterations, additions, new construction, and demolition to buildings and structures located within the Heritage Preservation Overlay Districts.
  • advising the Planning Commission on the appropriateness of any proffered elevations proposed as part of a Zoning Map Amendment within the Heritage Preservation Overlay Districts.
