Tuesday, Feb 19: A winter storm is in the forecast for the region. Click here for info on snow removal in the Town of Herndon. Residents are asked to move cars OFF of streets prior to the storm, so plows can get through. Recyclables will not be collected Wednesday, Feb 20; they will be collected town-wide on Thursday, Feb 21. Liberal leave is in effect for town employees on Wednesday, Feb 20. Parks & Rec classes and programs before 3pm are cancelled.

The Herndon Police Department is a professional and progressive organization consisting of 72 sworn and civilian personnel.  

The town offers a comprehensive benefit package for sworn and civilian applicants.  Sworn employees are offered a starting pay of $53,931, with pay incentives for highly qualified applicants who are honorably discharged veterans, have advanced language skills, are college graduates, or have prior law enforcement experience.
