Tuesday, Feb 19: A winter storm is in the forecast for the region. Click here for info on snow removal in the Town of Herndon. Residents are asked to move cars OFF of streets prior to the storm, so plows can get through. Recyclables will not be collected Wednesday, Feb 20; they will be collected town-wide on Thursday, Feb 21. Liberal leave is in effect for town employees on Wednesday, Feb 20. Parks & Rec classes and programs before 3pm are cancelled.

Join the Herndon Community Center summer swim team and be a Fighting Halibut!  The Herndon Halibuts is a summer swim team within the Herndon Swim League.  As a developmental team, your child will have an opportunity to learn the four competitive strokes and swim in meets during the season. All swimmers must be able to swim one length of the pool continuously without stopping.

Online registration is available for this program.  Payment of the activity fee and parent sign up for assisting at meets and team events is required before the first day of practice.

Parents are expected to help out at four swim meets and one team activity. Parents are required to sign-up for meet and activity assignments before a child will be allowed to participate.  A $35 Activity Fee per swimmer will also be due to complete your registration to cover the cost of t-shirts, caps, end of season awards and team activities.

All swimmers are expected to attend meets! If your child will miss a swim meet, you must notify the coaches at least two days in advance.

More information about the team can be found at the Halibuts swimtopia website.
