Tuesday, Feb 19: A winter storm is in the forecast for the region. Click here for info on snow removal in the Town of Herndon. Residents are asked to move cars OFF of streets prior to the storm, so plows can get through. Recyclables will not be collected Wednesday, Feb 20; they will be collected town-wide on Thursday, Feb 21. Liberal leave is in effect for town employees on Wednesday, Feb 20. Parks & Rec classes and programs before 3pm are cancelled.

Start an annual family tradition and join us for this special day! Children age 2-15 and their families learn about fishing and experience a relaxing and successful day catching fish. All kids MUST be accompanied by an adult. Limited fishing poles and bait are available for use.

Trout Unlimited will help clean and store your catch. Volunteers will be on hand to teach you how to bait, cast, hook, and cook your freshly caught dinner. Please wear shoes you don't mind getting wet or muddy, no sandals. Event meets behind the Herndon Police Station on the Sugarland Run Trail. Teens and adults age 16 & up MUST have a valid Virginia State Fishing License to fish. Adults are not permitted to fish during kids fishing time.
